Pinxit has studied art history since high school and minored in 19th- and 20th-century art history and fine art processes during undergraduate studies at UMBC. Pinxit also studied photography, television, and film production/editing. Her basic philosophy is simple: photos and art allow for a unique ability to describe the mind’s sky to others. Images can translate history and personal experience in a way that encourages others to assume ownership of the world, shed light on the most troubling problems, end struggles, or inspire dreams. As an artist and world citizen, Pinxit still clings to the notion that we each have a fundamental stake in humanity and this planet. An award-winning photographer, she prefers to shoot nature, culture, and people simply going about their daily lives - the forces of history have shaped all, and each has the potential to influence and shape the future.
Pinxit also produces paintings for fundraising and by commission on a very, very limited basis. Her paintings and graphic work infuse street art, cartoon characters, and abstract expressionism. She likes to work with collage and upcycle materials whenever possible.
